I wanted to let everyone in the autism community know about an interesting study being conducted by Jason Wallin at Central Washington University. Some of you may know Jason’s name because of his autism resource website.

Jason is currently studying gesturing in the early years of development. All participants need to do is send copies of video recordings of their child (autistic, other developmental delay or typically developing) from their 1st, 2nd and 3rd years of life. This research study could provide the autism community with interesting information regarding development of gesture use which could potentially be an early indicator of developmental delays. As is the case with any research study, the more data the better… so contact Jason via his study website and send in your videos!

Wow that sounds cool hope that parents send in video. This can open a huge door into ASD and I hope a way to tell at a younger age!!
