This is a great book for parents and teachers of children with autism. The author, Ms. Sicile-Kira, is a mother of a boy with autism and wrote this book based on her experiences raising her child and navigating the world of autism, diagnosis and treatment.
This book covers the topics of myths, diagnosis, treatment, family life, school issues and transition to adulthood. For any person involved in the lives of people with autism, this is a good read for an additional perspective on autism. This book is an easy-to-read guide to the world of autism written from the perspective of a mother of a child with autism. While she might not be “the expert” on autism spectrum disorders, she is an expert in her own right and uses her experience to help others who are trying to find answers and direction.
