Nature Magazine: ASF is the “Voice for Science”

In its November 3rd, 2011, issue, Nature focuses on the current state of autism research. “Everything about autism spectrum disorder conspires to make it hard to understand. It takes diverse forms, from profound communication and behavioural problems to social difficulties coupled with normal language and even precocious talents.

The special issue describes new evidence to combat the notion that the rise in autism prevalence can all be explained by changes in how the condition is diagnosed. Another article debates the idea that some scientists and engineers are themselves ‘on the spectrum’, and are at high risk of having a child with autism.  And a profile of the Autism Science Foundation describes ASF’s unique position as the “voice for science”, having taken a firm stand in favor of rigorous science.
